The APDCAT, recognized in the SEIS 2020 National Informatics and Health Awards. Catalan Data Protection Authority

The APDCAT has been recognized in the SEIS 2020 National Informatics and Health Awards granted by the Spanish Society of Health Informatics (SEIS). Specifically, it has won the Award for the best initiative in the field of cybersecurity, privacy and data protection in the field of health, together with the Spanish Data Protection Agency, the Basque Data Protection Agency and the Council of Transparency and Data Protection of Andalusia.

The SEIS has especially highlighted the contribution of control authorities in the processing of sensitive data during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the security and protection of personal data has required unique treatments. In addition, he stressed the importance of his leadership to face the challenge in a coordinated manner and with the maximum legal guarantees.

The awards ceremony took place on July 8, in an event that could be followed online. Every year, the SEIS recognizes organizations and professionals who contribute to the development and implementation of ICT in the healthcare field.
