The Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) and the School of Public Administration of Catalonia (EAPC) have published the fourth chapter of the series Let's talk about personal data in audio format. This podcast aims to explain how the violation of personal data is interpreted within the framework of the General Data Protection Regulation and how to act when our organization suffers one.
This episode answers these and other questions from Olga Rierola, coordinator of the security breach notification management unit of the Catalan Data Protection Authority. This expert succinctly explains the key steps that must be taken within the 72 hours set by the regulations.
The topic is analyzed using an agile interview format, in which an announcer formulates questions that are answered by an expert in the field. It is also illustrated with practical examples that help to understand and apply the measures presented.
These materials are part of a joint initiative of the APDCAT and the EAPC, started in 2022, for the development and dissemination of resources to bring data protection concepts closer to public sector personnel. It includes a series of podcasts that offer deeper and more specialized analysis. Specifically, the series Let's talk about personal data goes into depth in the first three chapters on the right of access guaranteed by data protection regulations, on the assignment of data processing and on the processing of minors' data.
The Let's Talk about Personal Data series includes a series of videos that offer a more general overview and define basic concepts about the subject in the public sector. Precisely, the first video published deals with the value of personal data in a practical way, by Joana Marí, data protection delegate and responsible for strategic projects of the APDCAT.
