The Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) has joined the debates of the 1st Congress 'Legal challenges of the present for digital businesses of tomorrow', organized by the TechAndLaw platform together with the UAB.
In this sense, the head of APDCAT's regulatory monitoring, Núria Pedrós, took part in the 'cybercrimes' round table, where she highlighted the increase in denunciations, claims and notifications of security violations submitted to APDCAT this year 2024. He then made special mention of the need to assess the impact on the protection of personal data, before processing special categories of personal data, in a context that stands out for the new technological challenges.
The 1st TechAndLaw Congress has brought together experts and leaders of the digital sector in Barcelona to address legal challenges, as well as emerging opportunities in the field of the internet and technology. Specifically, aspects related to new technologies, artificial intelligence, data protection and digitization have been addressed.
