The Catalan Data Protection Authority (ADPCAT) and the School of Public Administration of Catalonia (EAPC) are organizing a day of debate on November 22nd around the impact on data protection of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, with the participation of experts in the international field.

Add to Google CalendarThe event will be used to deepen the impact assessment methodology on fundamental rights and freedoms in the field of AI, and learn about use cases in scientific research, the Advanced Learning Analytics Platform', and the PIO Model: a tool that favors compliance with regulations.
At 9.30 am, the director of the APDCAT, Meritxell Borràs, will welcome the attendees of the day. This will be followed by two presentations with internationally renowned guests. On the one hand, Karina Gibert, professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-BarcelonaTech, will talk about the impacts on the rights and freedoms of AI and the challenges of the future. On the other hand, Alessandro Mantelero, professor of Civil Law at the University of Turin, will delve deeper into the parallels between the General Data Protection Regulation and the Artificial Intelligence Regulation.
In addition, there will be time for debate, starting from the round table 'Methodologies for evaluating the impact on human rights in the field of artificial intelligence', moderated by the head of the Legal Advice of the APDCAT, Xavier Urios. In addition to Alessandro Mantelero, Ruben Ortiz, data protection officer (DPO) of the University of Barcelona will participate; Cristina Guzmán, DPO of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia; and Alexandra Lillo, legal technique of the Observatory of Ethics in Artificial Intelligence of Catalonia (OEIAC).
