The director of the Catalan Data Protection Authority, Meritxell Borràs, participates on February 24 in Turin in the closing ceremony of the Jean Monnet Chair of Digital Societies and Mediterranean Law of the Polytechnic of Turin. In this sense, he will participate in the workshop 'Privacy cultures in the Mediterranean Area. From private life to AI', to present the Catalan model for the Fundamental Rights Impact Assessment (FRIA) on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This is a pioneering methodology in Europe, developed within the framework of the working group led by Professor Alessandro Mantelero in the 'DPD en xarxa' community, promoted by the Authority.
Borràs will explain the Catalan FRIA model from 9.30 am, within the framework of the opening session focused on the challenges of AI in digital societies.
