The Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) participated in this event organized by the Fundació Tic Salut Social as a webinar.
Health research is no stranger to today’s digital transformation, and more and more projects are incorporating technological tools, such as artificial intelligence, to obtain results. These tools are a reality now and constitute the future of health research.
In this context, it is necessary for researchers and scientists to be able to calibrate the parameters in which their projects can be carried out from the perspective of personal data protection, specific research regulations, and research ethics, with an assessment of the causes, effects and repercussions that the research may generate. These topics were the main focus of the day.
On behalf of the APDCAT, Cristina Dietrich, Head of Regulatory Projects and Legal Studies in the Legal Department, took part in the session: Data protection in research projects.
The event was held on 21 October 2020, at 4 p.m.
