The Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) returns this year to the Children's Festival, from 27 to 31 December at the Fira Montjuïc venue, to continue its ongoing awareness-raising work and empower children and families when it comes to protecting their privacy on the internet and social networks.
In this edition, the challenge 'Don't let the internet confuse you' is also being extended to families, who will be able to participate in the activity with their children and measure their knowledge of personal data. To do this, they will have to go through a maze made of internet, located in a 100 m2 space set in an enchanted forest, and decide which data to leave and which is more worth removing and not sharing with the rest.
Adults and children will separate at the beginning of the maze, to take opposite paths. They will meet again at the end of the route, with the posters with data that they have decided to "save from the internet". The choice will then be shared, and there will be an opportunity for a brief reflection on the topic.
Among the options to choose from, you will find your name, your phone number, a photo of a friend, your voice, a music video, a photo of a dog, a story...
P@ssW0rd! Magic Show
In parallel with this space, the APDCAT has also programmed the P@ssW0rd! magic show, which, using different tricks, takes the little ones into challenges that will lead them to learn how to build a good password, protect themselves from deception in the digital world, and other risks that technologies entail in terms of private life and digital identity.
The show can be seen on the youth stage on these dates:
December 27, at 11am
December 29, at 5pm
December 30, at 5pm
December 31, at 11am
