On Tuesday, January 13, the Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) and the Institute for Continuing Education – IL3 of the University of Barcelona, in coordination with the Platform of the Social Third Sector of Catalonia, will launch a specialized training program for professionals from social third sector entities and organizations and small and medium-sized enterprises, with the aim of providing them with the necessary knowledge for handling personal data. This is a course of relevance, as these entities may manage especially sensitive data, related to health, racial origin, etc., which require enhanced protection.
The training will take place in person until March 24, every Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It is a practical and accessible course for professionals from third sector organizations and SMEs with no prior legal background, designed to provide them with tools and knowledge to help them comply with data protection regulations. Participants will become familiar with key concepts and learn about the risks and security measures to be applied through practical sessions.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate issued by the University of Barcelona and registered with Europass. Specifically, a University Micro-credential Certificate from the University of Barcelona, corresponding to a proprietary course equivalent to 3 ECTS credits.
