The Catalan Data Protection Authority, in collaboration with the Illustrious Bar Association of Barcelona, commemorates the 5th anniversary of the application of the General Data Protection Regulation with a day to debate the present and future in this field. The session, which will bring together experts in the world of law, technology and privacy, will especially serve to analyze formulas facing the challenge of applying data protection legislation to technologies based on artificial intelligence.

Add to Google CalendarThe Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT), in collaboration with the Illustrious Bar Association of Barcelona (ICAB), is organizing next Thursday 25 May the day "Five years of application of the General Data Protection Regulation", to discuss and analyze the present and future in this area, especially in the face of the challenges posed by the emergence of artificial intelligence technologies in terms of privacy.
At 5:30 p.m., the director of the APDCAT, Meritxell Borràs, and the general director of Digital Services and Citizen Experience of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Ester Manzano, will talk about the present and future of data protection. Then, at 6.45pm, a round table will take place to discuss the challenge of applying data protection legislation to technologies based on artificial intelligence. The head of APDCAT's Legal Advice, Xavier Urios, the Data Protection coordinator at the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS), Míriam Méndez, and the head of the Advisory and Legal Support for the Digital Administration, Ruth Molina, will participate. The lawyer, member of the Information and Communication Technologies Rights Section and member of the Data Protection Advisory Council of the APDCAT, Jordi Bacaria, will moderate the debate.
