The first learning and collaboration network of data protection officers in Catalonia, 'DPD en xarxa', is organizing its first meeting on October 3 at the Palau de Pedralbes, to report the work done, promote the exchange of knowledge and encourage debate on the new challenges to be addressed.
The extensive program of activities includes conferences, with the participation of experts in the international field, and also small working groups to promote synergies and share expertise. Each group will work around a topic and will be moderated by a DPD expert in the field. The conclusions of each group will be shared at the end of the session.
To participate, you must be a member of the 'DPD online' community and register for the meeting by sending an email to the network. It should be remembered that, from March 2024, people who are active as data protection delegates of all public and private organizations based in Catalonia can also participate in the DPD network.
In recent weeks, the working groups have been actively analyzing the corresponding topics and identifying aspects that need to be highlighted and deepened and they have drawn conclusions that they will present on the same day 3, to be able to share with all the DPDs and identify new lines of work in the network.
Specifically, they have been working on:
- AIPD for the management of municipal waste in high efficiency models. Main challenges and difficulties.
- European health data space: how does the new regulation impact Catalonia?
- Risk analysis on rights and freedoms. How should you approach it? Key points to analyze.
- Regulation of data processors located outside the EU.
- Social services. Local world and proactive services using AI.
- Data protection and transparency in selective processes.
- The role of the DPD in the framework of the AI Regulation.
