The Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) promotes the development of research studies on topics it considers of interest, to monitor the evolution of the implementation of data protection in our society. Thus, it carries out research in strategic areas, such as the impact of new technologies on privacy, with the support of third parties, where appropriate. On the other hand, it carries out the coordination of works prepared by staff in practice, without this implying that the APDCAT necessarily shares the opinions expressed.
