Online workshop: Data regulation to maximize competition

The Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) is taking part in this event organized by the Catalan Competition Authority.

The event will discuss the value of personal data in the digital society and how data protection can help revive competition in the digital market.

It will also analyse the work carried out by regulators, competition authorities, and data protection authorities, among others, and look at future prospects: new EU industrial policy, calls for the breakdown of the technology giants (for example, from the European Parliament), and the impact of the GDPR.

On behalf of the APDCAT, Santiago Farré, head of the Legal Department, will take part in the session that will be held to delve into the point of view of the authorities on the issues raised.

The event will take place on 28 October 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
